Namaskaram!!!
Accidentally came across your blog and could not resist posting a comment in this. Onething for sure, I can see your "desire" to hog the limelight in one or the other manner. Seems you did'nt succeed even upto your 56th year. Can surely say that you are not doing this junk task for bread and butter but just to satisfy your ego..just to tell yourself that you are worthy..that you too have brains..you should have used your brain(if at all you have one) for the social causes. Analyse the politicians, analyse the social issues. Whey hell are you trying to perform the postmortem on Vivekananda's character, sayings and lifestyle. As vivekananda said "No two people see the same world"...your perception of life is different and mind you...you old fellow!! you are not from the timeperiod of vivekananda!!! Just don't write all these shit as you have a internet connection and better stop reading junk and writing junk...Garbage IN..Garbage OUT..am sure you might have read all the junk...else you might have an inbuilt garbage generator in your lousy brain....
God Bless You...

Your comment about my desire to hog the limelight:

Swami Vivekananda wrote to Alasinga Mudaliar from US on the Aug. 31, 1894:

" ... Or if you think proper, you get some of the big folks to be named as office-bearers of the Society, while you work in the real sense. Their name will be a great thing."

He wrote to Rakhal on 10th Aug. 1899:
"...Sarada writes that the magazine is not going well. . . . Let him publish the account of my travels, and thoroughly advertise it beforehand — he will have subscribers rushing in. Do people like a magazine if three-fourths of it are filled with pious stuff?..."

Swami Vivekananda wrote from New York to his brother disciples at Alam Bazar Monastery in 1894, from U.S.A.

"..I seldom live in hotels, but am mostly the guest of big people here. To them I am a widely known man. The whole country knows me now; so wherever I go they receive me with open arms into their homes ..."

Swamiji wrote to Alasinga from Metclaff, Mass. on 20.8.1893:

From this village I am going to Boston tomorrow. I am going to speak at a big Ladies' Club here, which is helping Ramâbâi. I must first go and buy some clothing in Boston. If I am to live longer here, my quaint dress will not do. People gather by hundreds in the streets to see me. So what I want is to dress myself in a long black coat, and keep a red robe and turban to wear when I lecture. This is what the ladies advise me to do, and they are the rulers here, and I must have their sympathy. Before you get this letter my money would come down to somewhat about £70 of £60. So try your best to send some money. It is necessary to remain here for some time to have any influence here.
In the same letter quote:
"...Just now I have been to the tailor and ordered some winter clothings, and that would cost at least Rs. 300 and up. And still it would not be good clothes, only decent. Ladies here are very particular about a man's dress, and they are the power in this country...."
Now! Is it not clear, who wanted to hog the limelight? Vivekananda or I? To enable Vivekananda win the sympathies of big ladies, poor Alasinga at Madras should send collect money and send to U.S.A. My sympathies are with Alasinga and not Vivekananda who stayed in U.S.A. beyond his main brief of attending the Congress of Religions, for being the guest of big Ladies, praising the yankee land and calling India jelly fish and rotten corpse inside and outside.

Your Comment: "Seems you did'nt succeed even upto your 56th year."
Well, I have a fair amount of success in my life in past jobs and personal life. It is not a super success. But it is not a failure either. I partly accomplished, whatever I wished to achieve, and I am on the progressive path of doing it. Of course, there will be disappointmens, never mind. I shall not describe my contributions and successes because they result in self-praise. This task of self-praise was to be left as the hobby of Swami Vivekananda. Quote:

He wrote to Ms. Mary Hale from Ramnad on 30.1.1897:

From Colombo in Ceylon, where I landed, to Ramnad, the nearly southernmost point of the Indian continent where I am just now as the guest of the Raja of Ramnad, my journey has been a huge procession — crowds of people, illuminations, addresses, etc., etc. A monument forty feet high is being built on the spot where I landed. The Raja of Ramnad has presented his address to "His most Holiness" in a huge casket of solid gold beautifully worked. Madras and Calcutta are on the tiptoe of expectation as if the whole nation is rising to honour me.

Swamiji wrote to Alasinga from Chicago on 2nd Nov. 1893:-
"...From that day I became a celebrity, and the day I read my paper on Hinduism, the hall was packed as it had never been before. I quote to you from one of the papers: "Ladies, ladies, ladies packing every place — filling every corner, they patiently waited and waited while the papers that separated them from Vivekananda were read", etc. You would be astonished if I sent over to you the newspaper cuttings, but you already know that I am a hater of celebrity. Suffice it to say, that whenever I went on the platform, a deafening applause would be raised for me. Nearly all the papers paid high tributes to me, and even the most bigoted had to admit that "This man with his handsome face and magnetic presence and wonderful oratory is the most prominent figure in the Parliament", etc., etc....

Your comment: "...you should have used your brain(if at all you have one) for the social causes..."
How much social work did Vivekananda do from 1893 to 1900? Having parties with women? The real social work was done by Akhandananda, Nivedita, Christina Greenstidel, Shivananda and others. Swamiji was goading and prodding them.
ABOUT MY WORK
Since you have raised this question, I am replying: I have voluntarily worked in Nallamala Forests of Andhra Pradesh helping the poor to derive a genuine livelihood. Have you or Vivekananda worked in Nallamala forests or any other forests? I am not elaborating on this because, this blog is for finding out "hitherto uncared for facts" and not my self-aggrandizement.

NEED FOR AN EQUAL INCOME-WEALTH-OPPORTUNITY SOCIETY (PROBABLY MARXISM OR SOCIALISM)
Charity is not a substitute for a society of equality. Marxism, with some modifications will probably meet the needs. We have to work towards that goal. We have to get the people ready for it. I am on this mission only.

Your comment:
"...you are not from the timeperiod of vivekananda!!!..."
REPLY:
Vivekananda died in 1902. His Complete Works relate to the period 1890 to 1902. A Century old. Who placed these Century old literature on the Net? His sectarians and devotees. Do they belong to the time period of Vivekananda? For selling Vivekananda literature and collecting donations in his name, no time period is required. For reading and analysing the Complete Works, why a time period is required?

Your Comment: you old fellow!! you are not from the timeperiod of vivekananda!!! Just don't write all these shit as you have a internet connection and better stop reading junk and writing junk...Garbage IN..Garbage OUT
Well, I follow a principle of respecting the right of others to express their opinion, howsoever, vulgar it may be. The comment of "Garbage In.. Garbage OUT" equally applies when persons and publishing houses print the Complete Works of Vivekananda and sell quotes from them.

Your Comment: "God bless you"

Does the God really exist? It is only a belief. If God really exists, he must have a lousy brain, because he created me with a lousy brain. Or he created me without a brain.

ABOUT MUDSLINGING AND TARNISHING IMAGE - additional point omitted in my post #203
I never intend to cast aspersions on Vivekananda's actions and motives. It is not a historian's job. Had I intended it, I would have discussed the affair of Ms. Baglay about which Mr. P.C. Mozumdar, the Brahmo rival of Vivekananda, published in his magazine in 1894. I considered it as inadequate evidence. The Ms. Baglay affair caused a break in communications between Prof. Wright of Harvard University and Swami Vivekananda. Swamiji wrote on the 18th June 1894 from U.S.A.: quote:

"... I do not know whether I will come to Annisquam or not. The letters need not be sent over to me until I write you again. Mrs. Bagley seems to be unsettled by that article in the Boston paper against me.* She sent me over a copy from Detroit and has ceased correspondence with me. Lord bless her. She has been very kind to me. ..."

After this letter, the communications between Ms. Bagley and Swamiji, Prof. Wright and Swamiji, had apparently broken. Prof. Wright did not reply though Swamiji wrote to him on 1st Feb. 1895 about Greek idea of soul, Babylonians, Egyptians and Jews. Why Prof. Wright didn't respond and why Swamiji didn't/couldn't follow it up? We cannot trace even a single letter after that date addressed by Swamiji to Adhyapakji. Why?

Your comment: Just don't write all these shit as you have a internet connection and better stop reading junk and writing junk

You have answered this question. quote: "No two people see the same world...your perception of life is different and mind you." Now, you call what I write "shit" and want me to stop it. Don't you want to see a different perception?

Your Comment: "...Old Fellow..."

Physical age does not make any difference. Honey becomes better with storage.

CONCLUSION
It is true that I have wasted some precious time and money in tracing out garbage from the Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda. (Had a monk lived the life of a true monk, this would not have happened). More garbage would have come out, had the "inbox" of Swamiji, been released by those who are in possession of the letters. You and I both are fortunate.

Vivekananda himself wrote:
"India is full of lazy rogues."
I am probably one of them. Or probably he was one of them. Or both of us are rogues. Or India was or is really full of lazy rogues?

Good job mate. I see it took u 30 yrs to finally figure out that vivekananda was all crap and now u painfully pick lines from his Complete Works to prove ur point. Now that's hardwork. Don't know how many hungry people it has helped in feeding though as u claim the goal of life should be. Well, vivekananda lived for 39 yrs only and if u think he did nothing in all those yrs than waste everybody's time then probably u could have set a better example rather than wasting ur life in trying to analyse what all somebody did not do. As for me, i too have read his Complete Works and they have been an inspiration for life. Replies welcome but pls don't highlight anything from his works. That looks boring.
